Banner Repatriation goes live!
For 40 years (1969-2009) the operations of our core Student
Registration and Financial Management computer systems have been
provided by xwave and its predecessors. For the last three years,
Memorial has undertaken a large project to bring these applications
back to campus and, on October 13th, 2009, Memorial will assume
in–house management of these core administrative services.
The first phase of the project was to create and staff Edutech and
for Edutech to take over the Applications Management services
previously provided by an xwave team. The second phase will be
completed on October 13th,2009 as the hardware and computer
operations functions will be brought back to campus. The
repatriation team consists of members of the Registrar’s
Office, Finance and Administrative Services, Edutech and Computing
and Communications.
To facilitate the conversion from xwave to the Computing and
Communications Data Centre, all Banner systems (including Student
Self-Service and the Undergraduate and Graduate Applications for
Admission) will be unavailable from 4:00AM on Saturday, October 10,
2009 until 5:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2009. During this period
students, faculty and staff will not be able to access Banner or
any of the Self-Service functionality.
This work is part of Computing and Communications' service
improvement plan and has been scheduled to minimize inconvenience
to clients. For further information, please contact the Computing
and Communications Help Centre at 737-4595 or help@mun.ca
