Unscheduled Service Disruption - March 5, 2009
The Memorial University main campus Data Centre experienced a
major unscheduled electrical outage on Thursday, March 5th, at
10:57 am. The cause of the outage is believed to be associated with
fire testing procedures which take place by Facilities Management
on an annual basis, and were underway in the Data Centre this
morning. Further investigation is underway. Electrical power was
restored at 11:32 a.m. and restoral of major C&C services
started at that time.
Services affected by this outage would include but not be
limited to email, Internet access, web service, access to xwave
hosted services, and some telephony services.
Problems or other issues experienced after 12:30 pm should be
reported to the C&C Help Centre, 737-4595, help@mun.ca.
