What is a Bug Promoter?
A bug promoter is someone who seeks to inform the community about and change the public's relationship with insects. Generally, people as a whole consider bugs to be disgusting or slimy creepy-crawlies whose sole purpose in life is to annoy or irritate us. As bug promoters we are attempting to advance the positive or beneficial ways that the insect community impacts our city and the world. We accomplish this by participating in service learning activities that provide the community with knowledgeable information about bugs and human-bug relationships. It is our hope after reading the information featured on this site that you too can appreciate the positive ways in which insects shape our lives.
