B.A. Second Language Requirement
B.A. CORE REQUIREMENTS - Winter 2014
A student must complete 6 credit hours in courses in a single language other than English, or demonstration of equivalent competency in a second language. This requirement may be met by the completion of two courses in languages such as French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Innu-aimun, Inuktitut, Italian, Irish Gaelic, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Sanskrit, or Spanish, or other languages that may be offered from time to time.
The following courses applicable to the B.A. 2nd-Language “Core Requirement” are scheduled to be offered in the Winter 2014 semester:
- Classics 1121 (Latin), Classics 1131 (Ancient Greek)
- French 1500, 1501, 1502, 2100
- German 1000, 1001
- Italian 1001
- Linguistics 2701 (Irish Gaelic), 2703 (Japanese)
- Religious Studies 1040 (Chinese Mandarin)
- Russian 1000, 1001
Please note that the two courses used to meet this requirement must be in the SAME second language.
