ArtsWorks Program Description

ArtsWorks coverArtsWorks is a non-mandatory, non-credit program that is offered free of charge for Arts students. This one semester program includes attendance at nine weekly sessions, four interactive workshops and a service-learning component (optional). The program is facilitated with small groups - you will meet lots of great students just like you! Students can choose one of two levels:

ArtsWorks: Level One

  • In-class sessions (9 hours)
  • Workshops (4 hours)
  • TOTAL: 13 hours of ArtsWorks

ArtsWorks: Level Two

  • ArtsWorks Level One (13 hours)
  • Service-Learning Component (8 hours)
  • TOTAL: 21 hours of ArtsWorks
  • Level Two ArtsWorks will also count towards the VIP Bronze Level Award from the Student Volunteer Bureau's Volunteer Incentive Program

When you apply to the program, the registration form lists possible time slots for the weekly sessions. You select the time slot that best fits into your schedule and as long as space is available, that will become your regular time slot to attend each week. If at some point, you know you are unable to attend your regular time in a particular week, you can attend another time that week to make up the session.

The workshop hours have more options in terms of what you might select and the types of things you might want to participate in that connect to your particular interests and current situation. There are many events and workshops on campus that can potentially fulfill this requirement of the program.
