You must submit your paper in writing prior to the conference so be sure to check out the guidelines and follow them carefully!

Papers will be judged by a committee and the winner will receive the following:

  • A one-year CNEHA membership!
  • A monetary prize!
  • A publication in the Journal of Northeast Historical Archaeology!
  • A certificate!
  • The satisfaction of knowing that you won!

Accommodations

We understand that conference funding for students is limited, and that getting to Newfoundland can be fairly expensive.  In order to offset the costs for students wishing to participate in CNEHA 2012 we have the following accommodation options available:

Free accommodations via a student hosting program.  Students from Memorial University are willing to host visiting students in their own homes.  This type of program is great because you can broaden your archaeology network, spend time with a local student who will show you all the hot spots in St. John's, and have a great time overall (plus it'll save you $$).  If you're interested in this option please email Amelia Fay (aemfay@mun.ca)

* Please note: This option applies to recent graduates too!

There is also a hostel and some cheaper B & B's in the downtown area.  Check out more options here.
