The Association of Atlantic Universities' Teaching Showcase has an established tradition of presentations that advance the practice and scholarship of teaching and learning across disciplines. To disseminate the scholarship shared during the Showcase in a format that is accessible to a broader audience and that is more formally recognized in our academic communities, Showcase organizers are seeking submissions for the 2006 volume of the Atlantic Universities' Teaching Showcase Proceedings. Those who presented at the 2006 AAU Teaching Showcase are invited to submit a full-paper manuscript for review and publication in the Proceedings. Printed copies of the Proceedings are distributed to the contributing authors and to AAU member institutions however, the primary mode of distribution is as PDF files posted on the AAU website, (atlanticuniversities.ca ).
All submitted manuscripts will be peer reviewed and edited to ensure consistency with the general standards for academic publications. Specifically, reviewers will focus on the practical or theoretical contribution to teaching and learning, the professional treatment of the topic, organization of the manuscript, and clarity of writing. The editor holds the right to make minor changes, including changes in spelling, grammar, and punctuation but will make no changes that impact on the content of the manuscript.
The following guidelines are provided to make the process as efficient as possible:
- Submission to the Atlantic Universities' Teaching Showcase Proceedings is an indication by the author(s) that the manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for another publication.
- Full-paper manuscripts should include an abstract of no more than 250 words.
- Total length of manuscript should not exceed 4000 words.
- Please also submit an author biography, 200 words maximum, for inclusion in the "Authors" section of the Proceedings.
- Submit manuscript and author biography as email attachments to: instrdev@mun.ca.
- The deadline for submission is now extended to Monday, December 18, 2006.
- Submissions must be made in MS Word or Rich Text Format.
- Authors may use the referencing style commonly used in their disciplines.
- Authors will be advised of the outcome of the review process by February 23, 2007 and will be asked to consider any revisions suggested by the reviewers.
