In recognition of his work as a scholar and historian, Don Haymes, the archivist and historian at the Christian Theological Seminary Library in Indianapolis, Ind., has been honoured with Restoring the First-century Church in the Twenty-first Century: Essays on the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.
This volume is a collection of articles and essays written, collected and published as a tribute to a scholar. In Hayme’s case, the contributing authors are his colleagues, students and friends.
The 626-page book was presented to Dr. Haymes in November by the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature. It is the first in a series titled Studies in the History and Culture of World Christianities.
Dr. Rollmann, a professor in Memorial’s Department of Religious Studies, contributed the editors’ preface, A Cage of Unclean Birds, and an essay titled Die Campbelliten: The Stone-Campbell Movement in Major Twentieth-century German Theological Reference Works.
