Population trends focus of radio program

Dr. Ivan Emke

CBC's Radio Noon will examine this province's outmigration problems with the help of two Memorial researchers during a live one-hour provincial call-in show this afternoon.

Dr. Barbara Neis, co-director of SafetyNet and a professor in the Department of Sociology, as well as Dr. Ivan Emke, an associate professor with Sir Wilfred Grenfell College's social/cultural studies program, will be guests. They'll talk about, among other things, the population shifts and trends of this province, especially in rural areas.

The Crosstalk segment of Radio Noon airs just after the 1:30 p.m. news on CBC Radio One. You can listen to the program live on the Internet.
