BSc in Environmental Physics

In 2003 the Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography introduced a new degree program in Environmental Physics. The course is highly interdisciplinary in nature and draws on a range of existing courses and expertise within the Faculty of Science. This unique program is comprised of the core courses in physics that includes courses in Physical Oceanography, and new courses in Environmental Physics and Numerical Modelling. As well students are required to take courses in Biology, Earth Sciences and Geography. This program provides students with an understanding of the environment on a variety of length and time scales, from global issues concerning climate to the microscopic processes involved in nuclear power generation and waste disposal.
