The Harris Centre is turning 10!

To mark the occasion we've planned a two-day conference (Nov. 4 & 5) of leaders and decision-makers from the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors to discuss issues the province has faced over the past ten years and what's on the horizon for the next ten.

Since being formed in 2004, the Harris Centre has held hundreds of public forums, dozens of regional workshops, and funded hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of research, all pertaining to regional development and public policy in the province, with the aim of increasing Memorial University student, staff, and faculty capacity to help the province contend with complex issues, and to improve public understanding of the same.

To look back over the past ten years, and ahead to the next, the Harris Centre has assembled a team of researchers to undertake a review of a decade’s worth of Harris Centre programming and projects and assess their contributions to regional development and public policy knowledge for the benefit of Newfoundland and Labrador, the findings of which will be shared with the public and stakeholders at the 2 day conference NL Forum 2014 to be held on November 4 & 5, and culminate in a synthesis report The Harris Centre After Ten Years.
