Graduate student funding available - last day to apply!

The Strategic Partnership - Harris Centre Student Research Fund is a project to promote student research at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador in provincial economic competitiveness in national and international markets.It is a partnership between the Harris Centre and the Strategic Partnership Secretariat of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Fund Description

  • The Fund will provide student research grants to current graduate students to research on factors affecting provincial competitiveness in global markets. Research projects will be selected bt the Selection Committee, as described below, on the basis of merit, on the recommendation of a sponsoring professor.
  • This fund provides for 4 awards of $5,000 each.
    Criteria for proposal selection and research paper acceptance will be established by the Selection Committee and consistent with Memorial University guidelines.
  • The relevance of research for application in Newfoundland and Labrador is the primary criteria for consideration.
  • A selection committee for selection of research papers will include representatives of the Strategic Partnership with support from the Harris Cente.
  • Disbursement of funds accepted research projects will be as follows: 50% upon acceptance of a research proposal by the Selection Committee and 50% following acceptance of the final report by the sponsoring professor.
  • *Clarification* - Applicants need to submit just one 2-page project description (as noted in the application form. This document should include the various topics outlined in the application form.)
