Why is Memorial University offering coaching?

Coaching is a learning process. A coach may use inquiry, reflection, requests and discussion to help clients identify personal, work, and/or relationship goals, and develop strategies, relationships and action plans intended to achieve those goals. Coaching is becoming more widely known and used in many areas of work. It is used in over 50% of today’s Fortune 500 companies as a way to assist senior management and executives in improving their performance and accomplishing their goals. Executive coaching is a proven process that focuses on the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that hold the greatest potential for success amidst complex challenges and change.


What is the aim of the program?

The aim of this program is to build a coaching culture at Memorial University in which individuals are engaged in enhancing their performance, and the performance of their teams.


Who is eligible for coaching?

Coaching is available to all Memorial staff and faculty. The coach-client relationships are voluntary and confidential. Appointments will be by mutual agreement for time, repetition, and duration, and can be made by contacting the coaches directly.
