The Memorial University Division of Varsity Athletics and The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) present: Women and Leadership Development Program

Join CAAWS for a 4-session program for women focused on developing strong leadership skills.

Total program cost: $20 for varsity student-athletes and $35 for alumni

Session Descriptions:

Conflict Resolution - Thursday November 12th, 2015 6:30-9:30 p.m. Conflict, in its many forms, is an inevitable part of our personal and professional lives. This workshop will ensure participants can understand and resolve conflict professionally.

Influencing Change - Tuesday November 17th, 2015 6:30-9:30 p.m. Whether influencing change in your organization, across the sport and physical activity system, or more broadly in society, this workshop will provide participants with theory and practical tools for success.

Effective Networking - Thursday November 19th, 2015 6:30-9:30 p.m. Strong networking skills can be a valuable tool, both personally and professionally. From building organizational partnerships to knowing about upcoming events, building your network is a long-term investment with great payoffs.

Effective Communication - Tuesday November 24th, 2015 6:30-9:30 p.m. In the workplace, effective communication is the foundation for better job performance and relationship building. After this workshop participants will be more strategic and efficient in their communication.

Course Facilitator: Ms. Jill Brewer, BPE, University of Calgary, MPE, Memorial University

Jill Brewer has been extensively involved in coaching development and leadership. She has held roles as a former member of Canadian National Junior Diving Team, Professional Coach in the sport of Diving and is currently a Canadian National Senior Official for Diving. In 2013 Jill received the National NCCP Coach Developer Award for Outstanding commitment to coach education and inspiring coaches to reach higher. This award is given to only one Canadian annually. The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport and Physical Activity also named her as one of the Top 20 Most Influential Women in 2013.
