CACMS assembles a site visit team that includes the Dean of Medicine of another medical school, a representative from LCME, a medical student and at least two faculty members from other universities.

At least three months before the team’s visit in April 2022, the medical school must submit the following required information:

• a data collection instrument (DCI)
• medical school self-study (MSS)
• the independent student assessment (ISA)

The team arrives on April 3, 2022. That evening they meet with the Dean of Medicine and any members of senior leadership that the dean wishes to bring. The dean orients the team to the history and activities of the medical school.
 
From approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 4 and 5, the team meets with appropriate faculty, students and staff. Each evening the team reviews the information they have collected and composes their report.

On April 6, 2022 the team presents their final report to the dean. This report is what is sent to CACMS for the final decision on accreditation. Ratings may be changed by CACMS.
