PhD Comprehensive Examination

The purpose of the Comprehensive Examination is to evaluate a student's breadth and depth of knowledge in subject areas defined by selected subdiscipline(s) within the broader context of Biology.

Students must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Examination Committee (EC) that they possess an adequate knowledge of the literature in their subdiscipline(s) and that they have the ability to pursue and complete original research at an advanced level.
