Research Overview

Research in the Bignell lab focuses on:

(1) Characterization of virulence-associated secondary metabolites produced by the common scab pathogen Streptomyces scabies 

(2) Isolation of scab-causing Streptomyces spp. from Newfoundland and characterization of the associated secondary metabolites produced by these species.
