FUSION Pilot Project/MUCEP
This MUCEP position is participating in an exciting Canada wide project focused on students’ skill development. The FUSION: Future Skills Innovation Network for Universities Pilot Project is focused on ensuring students develop in demand employability skills required for an evolving workforce. This project consists of ten hours of self-directed professional development activities designed to enhance students’ skill development. By applying for this position, the successful student(s) agrees to complete 10 hours of professional development as part of Project FUSION, in conjunction with their assigned MUCEP hours. As such, 40-hour MUCEP positions participating in the FUSION project will be amended to be 50-hours, and 80-hour positions will be amended to be 90 hours. Students will be compensated for all additional hours at the regular MUCEP rate of pay ($14.30 per hour)*.
1) The maximum number of combined MUCEP/ISWEP hours a student can work per semester is 90 hours total.
2) If a student accepts two MUCEP (FUSION) positions, they will only be expected to complete the ten hours of FUSION professional development once, for a maximum of 90 hours total.
3) Successful student(s) will be contacted with directions about completing the FUSION curriculum once their MUCEP supervisor notifies Career Development that the MUCEP position has been filled.
4) All students who participate in the FUSION Project will receive a certificate of completion and be provided with guidance on how they can articulate the skills they have developed to future potential employers.
