Seven Sacred Teachings: Love, Honesty, Humility, Respect, Truth, Patience and Wisdom
Friday, Mar. 16, 2018, 1-4 p.m., The Landing-University Centre.
Saqamaw Mi’sel Joe will present the Seven Sacred Teachings: Love, Honesty, Humility, Respect, Truth, Patience and Wisdom. Each of these teachings has a story, and for people who live their lives by them, these gifts are visible. These seven virtues form the foundation of the Aboriginal way of life, and are intrinsic to a full and healthy life.
Mindful Watercolour Activity
Tuesday, Mar. 20, 2018, 12-1 p.m., University Centre (outside The Landing).
Take part in a guided watercolour mindfulness activity facilitated by Janis Campbell, student support and crisis management officer. Drop in anytime between 12-1 p.m. to experience this art-based approach to wellness. This event is free and open to all students, staff, and faculty.
Registration is not required.
Pathways to Wellbeing Workshop
Tuesday, Mar. 20, 2018, 1-4 p.m., The Landing-University Centre.
Mar. 20 is International Day of Happiness. We all want to be happy… but what exactly is happiness? Join Jennifer Kelly from Coast2Coast training for a dynamic half-day session to learn about scientifically proven factors of happiness and well-being. In this workshop, participants will discover the science of happiness, assess happiness boosting activities and then practice these activities. Participants walk away with tangible action items and techniques they can use to boost their personal happiness and well-being. Open to all students, staff, and faculty on the St John’s campus.
