MY Accessible MUN
The MY Accessible MUN campaign showcases people, places and things at Memorial University that promote inclusiveness and accessibility. Events will be taking place from May 18 – June 15, 2018.
The Culture of Care committee has partnered with the QEII Library to create a book display on Universal Design (UD) and Universal Design in Learning (UDL). This book display will be available at the QEII Library from May 18 – June 15.
Every Friday between May 18 and June 15, the MUN Students Facebook page will be sharing facts about people, places and things at Memorial University that promote inclusiveness and accessibility - through principles of UD or UD in teaching and learning. Join in and tell us about all of the things at Memorial that support or promote inclusion and accessibility. Students who share a Friday Facts post or contribute to the discussion will be entered into a prize draw.
An accessibility and inclusion themed trivia night will be held May 24 from 6-9 p.m. at The Landing. This will be a fun and accessible event for students, staff and faculty! There will be FREE pizza and prizes.
Teams must be 4 - 6 people. If you don’t have a team, don’t worry – you can join one of ours. Check out the Facebook event here.
MY Learning Style
MY Learning Style gives people a chance to better understand their learning style and how they learn - how they take in, understand, remember and express information.
Participants will complete an online survey (VARK) designed to help them identify their learning style. Once they have completed the survey, they will have an opportunity to discuss their learning style with a student advisor and take away some information on learning styles.
These sessions will take place June 5 and 6. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
June 5: 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. in the QEII library, The Commons
June 6: 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. in the The Loft, University Centre
Participants who take part in these sessions will receive a loot bag.
