Science Career Talk- October.28th, 2015

During Science Career Talks, science alumni working in the industry speak to science students and graduates about the career paths they have pursued and how they have navigated their job search. Since many jobs are not publicly advertised, networking often plays a major role in how students and graduates find jobs and careers that fit their interests and values.

Bobbi Rees
Bachelor of Science (Geography/ Biology)
Master of Science (M.Sc.), Coastal Zone Management

Bobbi is currently a Policy Planning and Research Analyst with the Government of Newfoundland. She previously worked as a Fisheries Development Officer, Resource Policy and Development Officer and Coastal Policy Analyst.

Chris Hendry
Senior Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisor
Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Chris previously held a position as the Co-Chair of the Future Leader's Network of Newfoundland and Labrador with Government of Canada. He was also a Marine Finfish Aquaculturist with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Director of Aquaculture Association of Canada.

Dr. Bill Montevecchi
As a University Research Professor of Psychology, Biology and Ocean Sciences at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Dr. Montevecchi engages a long-term interdisciplinary ecosystem research program focused on the behavioural ecology of marine and terrestrial birds.
