Changes to scholarship eligibility for 2020-21

The criteria for scholarship standing for new and returning undergraduate students has been revised for the 2020-21 scholarship year. The revised process minimizes the impact of the modified grading process implemented for the Winter 2020 semester on student’s eligibility for scholarships for 2020-21. If you have questions, email scholarships@mun.ca.

Entrance scholarships are available to students graduating from Canadian High Schools outside Newfoundland and Labrador but they do not have to apply specifically for the scholarships. They are considered automatically based on their admission application to the university.

Entrance scholarships are valued at either $2,550 or $1,275.

Early offers will be made to eligible candidates who have applied for admission to Memorial by the March 1st deadline.  Offers will be made in late March based upon early scholarship averages in descending order of average until all funds have been offered.

Please note that while only students with a 90% early average will be considered for an early offer, we cannot predict what the cutoff average will be.A minimum final admission average of 90% will be required in order to maintain entrance scholarship eligibility. Final entrance scholarship eligibility, for those who receive early offers, will be confirmed in August. Any funds that are available in August will be allocated with additional (late) entrance scholarship offers for eligible students who have not already received an offer.

*Note: final admission average is the average calculated by Memorial University using the final grades in the 10 credits required for admission to the university.

A summary of the above information is available at the Entrance Summary Table
