We are very excited to welcome students back to Student Residences this fall! Below is important information as you prepare to come to campus.
Move-In Dates and Timeslots
Check-In for Fall 2021 is currently scheduled for September 4th - 7th. In order to help with physical distancing, check-in will be done by appointment only. Students are required to select a time slot to check-in via the Student Residence Portal. Timeslots can be selected up until September 2nd.
Check-in timeslots are spaced out in 30 minute intervals. While students can take as long as they need to move into their space after check-in, we are asking students to try and complete this process as quickly as possible. This year, due to COVID-19 restraints, only one support person will be allowed into our buildings to assist with move-in. Masks will be mandatory during the move-in process.
What to bring?
It's always recommended that you coordinate with your roommate (should you have one) to avoid duplication of items. Suggested items for Paton College and Macpherson College include:

- Flashlight and batteries

Mandatory masks and vaccinations
As announced on Friday, August 19th Memorial University will be requiring all students, faculty and staff to have a COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, masks will now be mandatory in all indoor spaces. These new requirements will also apply to Student Residences and any students living on-campus this fall.
The safety and security of our student residents is of the upmost importance as we head into the fall semester. The inclusion of mandatory vaccines are another added layer of protection announced by the university and is in addition to the numerous COVID-19 policies and procedures already in place within residences.
Students, faculty, staff and visitors will require the first dose of an approved vaccination by Sept. 7, 2021, and the second dose by Oct. 15, 2021, unless granted an accommodation. Recognized vaccines include those approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and/or Health Canada. More information will be shared soon on the process by which Memorial will be requesting vaccination information. The accommodation process for vaccine exemption is being finalized and will be communicated as soon as possible. Please make every effort to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
