Thesis title: Obstacles to Women's Participation in Politics: The Case of Ghana

Supervisor: Dr. Amanda Bittner

The number of women involved in active politics in Ghana is very low yet there seems to be no defined commitment to addressing this phenomenon. My research will focus on the factors contributing to the low number of women in active politics. In other words, obstacles women face while climbing the political ladder. This knowledge will among other advantages serve the purpose of advising women and policy makers on the benefits of promoting women's participation.
