Rongxin Tang received a B.S. degree in radio physics, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in space physics from the Wuhan University located in Wuhan, Hubei, P. R. China in 2000, 2003 and 2006, respectively.

From 2007 to 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. From 2008 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, Canada. Since 2012, he has been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Research Professor at the Institute of Space Science and Technology at Nanchang University located in Nanchang, P.R. China. Dr. Tang is the author of more than 20 journal publications. His research interests include theoretical plasma physics, satellite data analysis, computer simulations, wireless sensor networks, and wireless communications.

Dr. Tang is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the Committee for Space Physics at the Chinese Society of Space Research.
