Robotics and Junior Engineers
Robotics and Junior Engineers are offered together as a full day camp. Specially designed for students ages 9-12, this camp will really keep children busy!
The morning session will focus on Robotics activities that are centered around LEGO's Mindstorm EV3 system. Students will learn how to build and program these robots to do some neat tricks!
The afternoon sessions are dedicated to a variety of engineering activities that help students learn about and appreciate the many disciplines of engineering.
This camp is a great way to inspire the future engineers in your family!
Robotics and Junior Engineers: Safety, Structures and Simple Machines
An awesome place for LEGO fans! Participants will have hands-on opportunities with LEGO's Mindstorm EV3 robotics kit. Using these kits, children will learn how to build a robot, link the robot to a computer and control it with software that they have written themselves.
Fun challenges throughout the week will allow students to explore the use of the light and touch sensors and put these robots to the test! Students will also have an opportunity to meet some new robots in 2018!
Throughout the week, our junior engineers will explore the exciting and innovative world of Engineering through fun, hands-on activities that focus on the themes of safety, structures and simple machines. Students will discover the answers to questions such as; what is engineering? What do engineers do?
Robotics and Junior Engineers: Things that Move!
One week of Robotics and Junior Engineers just isn’t enough so another full week of camp is available! Lego fans will definitely want to get in on this camp as well!
Students will work in groups to select a robot to build and learn how to program their robot to complete tasks using the ultrasonic, sound and colour sensors. Participants with experience in robotics have the opportunity to build a more sophisticated robot. All participants will learn to use keen problem solving skills and these super cool robots to complete new group challenges in a fun team environment! LEGO at home may never be the same!
The humanoid NAO robots and our other new kits will certainly make an appearance in this camp too. Participants will learn even more about engineering concepts as they design and build boats, rockets and kites! Focusing on things that move will certainly keep these students, and their minds, very active.
