I am an assistant professor of second language education in the Faculty of Education. My current research focuses on the acquisition of meaning in a second language and cross-linguistic semantic representations. I am more specifically interested in the measurement of these constructs and using statistical modelling to capture the relationship between the different measures.
In collaboration with colleagues at the Université du Québec à Montréal, I am also working on a project which looks at the relationship between syntax and reading in French as a second language. I have also participated in multiple research projects spanning a variety of subjects, such as the influence of English on the acquisition of morpho-syntactic properties of French, avoidance strategies in second language learners and second language oral production.
I teach and supervise in the fields of second language education and second language acquisition both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
