The core purpose of our Faculty is to provide excellent teaching, research, and service to others as we educate teachers and leaders for our society. We are to improve the human condition through education.
In this pursuit I believe we need to recognize the socially constructed nature of our organizations. It is in our meetings, committees, and faculty that we are constantly building, mending, and sometimes tearing socially connected fabrics which are held together by many interlinked individual relationships.
The result of this interconnectivity is a social fabric that enables participants and society to move forward, respectfully aware that we are dealing with other people - human beings with needs, aspirations, hopes, and dreams. We must always be respectful of others, aware of our context, and sensitive to the human part of our community. Our service to each other should be offered in a context where individuals are free to ask questions and challenge assumptions without fear.
Join us as we change the world.
