Comparative Perspective on Oil & Gas Development in Newfoundland and Norway

The Department of Economics is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) to sponsor a joint workshop on Energy Economics entitled: "Comparative Perspective on Oil & Gas Development in Newfoundland and Norway. This event will involve equal numbers of graduate students from Memorial University and NHH. It will take place in St. John's, NL from May 3 to 5, 2017. It will consist of a series of seminars on regulation, taxation, royalties, economic development, presentation from the CNLOPB, NALCOR, NOIA and academics from Norway and Newfoundland and Labrador and a site visit arranged by the Marine Institute. The Department of Economics offers its congratulations to Dr. Linda Nostbakken, Dr. Sunniva Whittaker, Dr. Wernerheim, Dr. Nahid Masoudi and Dr. Roberto Martinez-Espineira for successfully organizing this event. We are also appreciative of the CNLOPB, NALCOR, NOIA, MUN, the Marine Institute, Statoil and the Government of Norway for making this event possible.
