Danny Dyer began his career at Memorial University in 2005 and since that time has gained a reputation among students and colleagues as a skillful and caring teacher and mentor. In recent years he has also demonstrated skills in educational leadership and in 2015 he became the Faculty of Science’s Chair in Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Dyer’s influence on teaching extends far beyond his classroom experience as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He serves on the Advisory Committee for the First-year Success program and has contributed to its University 1020 course as a plenary session instructor. Also, he is principal investigator in two innovative projects funded by the Teaching and Learning Framework.
In December 2017, Dr. Dyer was presented by the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching, recognizing teaching excellence in the university community.
