Genomics

Genomics provides training and research support, through DNA sequencing and a number of genomics services, to undergraduate and graduate students, university researchers, and non-academic users.

As a teaching facility, our primary focus is to train and provide support for academic research. We provide training in:

  • DNA extraction
  • DNA quantification
  • PCR
  • PCR purification
  • Agarose gel electrophoesis
  • DNA sequencing
  • Microsatellite analysis
  • Species identification
  • Sex determination
  • Individual animal identification

We are happy to help in all aspects of student projects, from project design, to generation and analysis of data. The GaP facility also provides full service for the above procedures, and welcome academic and non-academic users to discuss their research needs with us to see how we may play a supportive role.
