Guidelines for employees
Supervisors will work with employees to determine plans for the return. A density calculator is available online to determine the capacity of on-campus spaces.
All employees will be expected to review the health and safety moment, complete Memorial’s COVID-19 awareness session and submit an individual COVID-19 form before resuming campus, office and field activities.
When on campus, employees should follow public health guidelines and posted signage including physical distancing, wearing a mask, hand washing and staying home when sick. A daily COVID-19 self-assessment check is available online and in the MUN Safe app and must be completed daily before coming to campus.
Empathy during this transition is crucial. This change from working from home to working with colleagues on campus will not be easy for everyone. Fear, anxiety and uncertainty are all natural reactions for some employees at this time. Supports and resources are available for employees from Human Resources and/or the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Parking permit renewals on St. John’s and Signal Hill campuses are suspended for the remainder of the fall and the winter semesters. Memorial will issue a refund to individuals who have previously purchased permits. Premium areas on the St. John's campus will still require permits, but these will be free (permitted lots 60, 30, 27, 20, 1, 25, 28 and 4).
This decision was made in consideration of the many scenarios how employees and students are accessing campus. Grenfell Campus and Marine Institute will issue permits, but will not charge for these.
Officers will not be ticketing for permit use, except in listed premium parking areas excluded from this announcement; however, they will enforce parking regulations for blue zones, fire lanes, metered and pay-per-use lots, listed premium parking areas, and areas where parking is prohibited.
Please note, guests should still use the Passport parking app for events and refunds are only for permits, not for event parking.
