B.Sc. (Major: Computer Science, Minor: Mathematics) from Memorial University

What position do you currently hold?

Instructional Assistant

Why did you choose this career?

I really enjoy using computers, problem solving/debugging and teaching so Instructional
Assistant in Computer Science seemed a perfect fit for me.

What is your favourite aspect of your profession?

I have two favourites actually: Helping students and developing web content for courses.

What do you consider a career highlight?

I recently won the Dean of Science Distinguished Service Award.

What other jobs have you held?

I held a teaching assistant job at a smaller college, helping in various areas (math, grammar, etc).

If you weren’t doing this job, what do you think you would be doing?

Probably something in web development.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I really enjoy ballroom, Latin and line dancing.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My parents always stressed the importance of a getting an education.

What would people be most surprised to learn about you?

People are usually surprised that I do ballroom dancing.

What are you most looking forward to within the next year?

Getting to spend some time with my family back home.
