The Program:

Butterflies Up-Close

Students will learn about some common Newfoundland butterflies and how we can help create an ideal habitat for them. The life cycle and mutualistic relationship between flowers and butterflies will be investigated. Students will have an opportunity to get up-close and personal with a butterfly specimen, by inspecting their anatomy under the microscope.  Are you raising Painted Lady Butterflies in your classroom?  The Botanical Garden is a perfect opportunity to release them!
