Tribute & In Memoriam Gifts

Our friends, family, mentors and colleagues shape many of the special memories we hold dear. Whether you would like to honour the accomplishments of a friend or the find a special way to honour a departed loved one, a gift made in tribute or in memory is a beautiful way to show you care.

The Botanical Garden of Memorial University encourages you to think about your loved one and find the gift that you feel will best reflect your wishes to honour them.

The Garden Fund – Gifts of Any Amount
The Garden Fund provides support for the most pressing needs of the Botanical Garden. Gifts made in honour of an individual may be placed into this fund to assist the Garden with initiatives that may include university teaching materials, collaborative research, youth and adult educational programs, plant or equipment purchases, and trail, flower bed or other infrastructure improvements. Your tribute or in memoriam gift can be designated to support a specific area or leave your gift undesignated within the Garden Fund and it will used at the discretion of the Director of Garden towards the area of greatest need. The names of those being honoured will appear on the website for in memoriam and tribute gifts.

Celebration Gardens: ~ $500+
Remembering a loved one by supporting an individual garden area or flower bed planting is a wonderful way to honour the special person in your life. There are a number of garden areas and flower beds within a variety of the individual gardens that can be supported on an annual or term basis throughout the Botanical Garden. A donor may choose to support the planting of a particular flower bed in tribute to or in memory of a loved one for a minimum of $500 per season. Your loved one’s name will appear in the selected garden for your year or longer term from the time of the gift receipt and will also appear on our website for in memoriam and tributes gifts.
