MUN Botanical Garden has always focused on education. Even before the Garden was open to the public, it opened its doors to the province’s school groups. Throughout the years this service has grown and matured and now includes a wide variety of programs available for all ages. Education staff continues the tradition of offering SCHOOL PROGRAMS to grades K through 12, both on-site and as an OUTREACH PROGRAMPARENT AND TOT is a popular program which welcomes new-borns to pre-school aged, and a variety of gardening and art WORKSHOPS and seminars are offered throughout the year for adults.

During the summer, the JUNIOR NATURALIST CAMPS (JNC) is always well received by both parents and campers. We also offer SUNDAY MORNING BIRD WALKS, TOURS, and new BACKPACK PROGRAM.

The many years of delivering educational programming has enriched Garden staff with a wealth of knowledge. To help pass on this knowledge, the Garden offers EDUCATOR WORKSHOPS and with the aid of grants has written RESOURCE  manuals that provide excellent activities and information that have been tested over the years and been found effective, enjoyable, and easy.
