Lynn Green, B.Sc.'76, BN'77
I graduated from Memorial with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 1977 and a Bachelors Degree in Science in 1976. I am a strong candidate for the Board of Regents as I have an extensive background in Education in this province. I was a school trustee for fourteen years. During this time I was instrumental in bringing about educational reform to the Denominational based school system. I am pleased now to see world religions being taught in our classrooms, which help create an inclusive approach to religion and culture in our diverse classrooms today. I have been involved as Chair of the Provincial Learning Disability Association of NL for over 15 years and am past Chair of the Learning Disability Association of Canada. I have sat on numerous local and Provincial Disability Committees, which has given me an extensive understanding of the needs of students with disabilities. I presently Chair the College of North Atlantic Committee for Students with Disabilities. I am married to Karl Green,B.Eng.,1976, and have three daughters who have received post secondary degrees outside this province. I have three grandchildren who are just entering the school system which has peaked my interest in ensuring that the best education is available to them. I am asking for your vote to ensure that I become a member of the Board of Regents so that I can use my skills and extensive knowledge of education to support Memorial University.
