The Newfoundland Micmaq in World War I - WW005

This exploratory research project is aimed at understanding the involvement of Newfoundland Mi’kmaq in the First World War, a topic that has never been the subject of scholarly research. Using a variety of methods, the research will identify individual Newfoundland Mi’kmaq who served and provide information such as each soldier’s home community, age, date of enlistment, service unit, siblings in service, etc. A database will be produced and patterns will be identified.
