Below is the Step-by-step guide for authenticating yourself with the SMTP mail server using MacMail – Apple Mac.

Step 1 -
Open your Thunderbird mail client.

Step 2 - Click Mail from the top menu, then click Preferences.

Step 3 -
Select Accounts from the top menu.

Step 4 - Select your Memorial email account to the left, then click the drop down box next to ‘Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)’, if no drop down box click Server Settings.

Step 5 -
Select ‘Edit Server List’ from the list available.

Step 6 -
Click Advanced from the menu.

Step 7 -
Input 587 as the server port, then put a check in the box next to ‘Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)’. Next verify that ‘Password’ authentication is selected, and your Memorial email username and password is inputted below. Click OK to save and close.
