Below is the Step-by-step guide for authenticating yourself with the SMTP mail server using Eudora 7.1.

Step 1 –
Open your Eudora mail client.

Step 2 - Click on Tools along the top menu, then click on Options.

Step 3 –
Use the scroll bar to the left to find and select ‘Sending Mail’. Verify that ‘’ is inputted as your ‘SMTP Server’. Select the check box next to Use submission port (587) and Allow Authentication. Under the heading ‘Secure Sockets When Sending’ select If available STARTTLS from the drop down menu. Click OK to finish.
