Memorial University's Oil and Gas Development Partnership Lecture Series continues on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, with a lecture titled Natural Gas: The Excruciating Transition. The lecture will be given by Dr. Michael Economides, professor at the Cullen College of Engineering, University of Houston.
In his lecture, Dr. Economides will look at the trend towards natural gas as the premium fuel of the future. As he sees it, this trend is not reversible, but the key and excruciating problem is the transition. A number of potential sources of natural gas, their limitations and potential, and some key issues with respect to managing the transition to natural gas will also be discussed.
The lecture will take place at 5 p.m. in the Engineering Lecture Theatre, EN-2006, located in the S.J. Carew (Engineering) Building, Arctic Avenue, just off the Prince Philip Parkway. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
