SUBJECT: Memorial University-led research could improve viability of rural communities across Newfoundland and Labrador

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, Dr. Rob Greenwood, executive director of the Harris Centre and the Office of Engagement at Memorial University, will release the findings of a Memorial-led research project that proposes a new approach to understanding regions in Newfoundland and Labrador. The event will also feature a demonstration of an innovative online tool for regional analysis.
Dr. Greenwood will be joined by Dr. Alvin Simms, associate professor, Department of Geography; Dr. Kelly Vodden, assistant professor, Department of Geography; and Craig Pollett, executive director, Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador.
The event will take place at 10 a.m., in Petro-Canada Hall, School of Music, St. John’s campus. A reception will follow. The event will also be webcast at
