SUBJECT: Grenfell Golf meets Neddy Norris – Come have a ball at Gros Morne Resort!
DATE: June 29,2009
The following is issued on behalf of TNL…
Theatre Newfoundland Labrador will partner with Gros Morne Resort for a new fundraiser in support of the Gros Morne Theatre Festival.
Patrons will have the opportunity to participate in a “best ball” tournament, playing against several of GMTF’s star cast and crew. The tournament, to be held at the spectacularly scenic Gros Morne Resort, will culminate in an evening of great food and theatre. The resort will provide a delectable steak dinner, followed by GMTF’s own Neddy Norris Night, a night of Newfoundland music and storytelling.
“We’re extremely pleased that Gros Morne Resort is partnering with us for this venture. The beauty of the area and our talented company will come together in a memorable experience,” said Gaylene Buckle, general manager of TNL.
Teams will consist of a maximum of four players. Included in the package per team are two power carts, (mandatory for the tournament), 18 holes of golf for each team member, a steak dinner in the resort’s upstairs dining room, and tickets to Neddy Norris in the resort lounge. Shot gun start at 12 noon with the show following dinner at 7 p.m. Team registration is $300.
The meal will consist of 8 oz. Striploin steak, baked potato, tossed salad, pasta salad, homemade rolls, mushrooms and onions and assorted sweets.
“The staff of Gros Morne Resort and I are honoured to have an opportunity to partner with Theatre Newfoundland Labrador on such a worthwhile initiative,” said resort general manager Chris Legge. “The resort as well as the entire business community has greatly benefited from TNL's presence in the area. World class theatre of this caliber certainly adds to the traveler’s experience when visiting Gros Morne National Park."
