The public is invited to a special presentation and workshop today, April 30, in Lecture Theatre A of the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University, from
2 - 4 p.m. This medical humanities presentation, titled Arts for Health: APresentation and Workshop, features two speakers who co-founded the Waterford Healing Arts Trust in Ireland.
Dr. Peter Jordan is senior lecturer in the Department of Creative and Performing Arts at the Waterford Institute of Technology. Dr. Abdul Bulbulia is president of the Waterford Healing Arts Trust. The workshop will be moderated by Dr. J.T.H. Connor, John Clinch Professor of Medical Humanities and History of Medicine at Memorial.
Drs. Jordan and Bulbulia have been pro-active in promoting the practice of arts for health in Ireland and abroad. They have contributed to several European conferences on this subject and have recently been invited by the director of the new graduate entry medical school at the University of Limerick to devise a course module on medical humanities.
