Geir Haarde, prime minister of Iceland, will give the John Kenneth Galbraith Lecture in Public Policy at Memorial University on Tuesday, April 15, at 8 p.m.
Iceland tops the UN’s Human Development Index, as well as a number of other international indices. The economy is highly advanced, wealthy, strong and flexible. It has favourable demographics, a fully-funded pension system, strong government finances and proven economic flexibility. How did Iceland become such a success?
Mr. Haarde’s lecture, entitled Small Country, Big Results: The Case of Iceland, will take place at the Inco Innovation Centre, Lecture Theatre IIC-2001, on the St. John’s Campus of Memorial University. The lecture is free and parking is available in Lot 18. This session will be webcast live at 8 p.m.at www.mun,ca/harriscentre/.
