SUBJECT: Public lecture to examine the struggle to end an addiction crisis in aboriginal communities

In a lecture titled More than Urgent: Aboriginal Women on the Front Line of an Addiction Crisis, part of the ongoing Women’s Studies Speakers Series, journalist and author Marie Wadden will take her audience into communities where rampant addiction problems are having a devastating impact, and introduce six women whose work is making a difference. She will also offer insight into how public support can aid their work.
Ms. Wadden will speak from 4-5:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 13, in room SN-4087 in the Science Building on Memorial’s St. John’s campus. There is no admission charge and parking is available in area 15, east of the Music Building.
