SUBJECT: Day 5 of MUNdays is warm and fuzzy

DATE: October 27, 2014

It’ll be a job to fit in all the feel-good fun as Memorial’s annual fall celebrations continue.

From Oct. 23-28, a full itinerary of spirit week events and activities will bring students, staff, faculty and alumni together to celebrate the university experience at Memorial’s St. John’s campus, Grenfell Campus and the Marine Institute during MUNdays 2014.

Today, Monday, Oct. 27, it’s MUNday, all day on the St. John’s campus! Memorial folks will be wearing their university pride with outfits made up of MUN-branded hoodies, tees, sweatpants and scarves.

Also, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is on from 1-3:30 p.m. at The Landing, University Centre! Graduate students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. The condensed time frame challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be communicated to general audiences. The top three competitors will take home some great prizes – the winner nabs $500 and moves on to the eastern regional leg of this prestigious national competition! Fans will watch, learn and root for their favourite thesis.

And tonight, from 6-9 p.m. in The Landing, University Centre, A Menu for Success: Dining Etiquette in the Professional World will answer participants’ burning etiquette questions like: Why are there so many forks? Whose bread plate is that? A delicious three-course meal will be served up for alumni and students to learn impeccable manners at this fun and informative event.

MUNdays highlights the diversity, ingenuity, excellence, kindness and community spirit that set Memorial apart from all other post-secondary institutions.
