Coastal Erosion at Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve, Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland
My research involves quantifying the dominant erosional processes and rates of those processes along the south-eastern shores of the Avalon Peninsula. Specifically, the research is conducted within Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve - home to 565 Ma Ediacaran fossils. Thus far, field work has consisted of qualitative and quantitative observations of both human and physical features in the area, including: bluff measures, measuring of wave characteristics, as well as strike and dip measures along significant bedding planes to help better understand the structural geology along this coastline. See link for presentation.
