I received my BSc (Honours) and BEd at Memorial University and MSc in Geography at McGill University. I spent five years as Assistant Director of General Studies at MUN and was chair of the Geography Department from 1995 to 2001. I started MUN's Orientation programme in 1983 and have a continued interest in improving student experiences in first-year university courses including the McConnell Project sponsored by the Instructional Development Office. My research and teaching interests are in Plant Biogeography, Physical Geography and Introductory Geography.
