Research Area

My research focuses on the conservation of marine resources and biodiversity. My background covers three main topics: 1) the quantification of overlooked and badly known fisheries (artisanal, recreational and subsistence), 2) the benefits of marine protected areas for the marine biodiversity and local fisheries and 3) the description and evaluation of marine populations connectivity patterns and their importance for a better resource management. I worked in various environments, such as the Mediterranean Sea (France and Spain), the North-east Atlantic and the North Sea, but also in tropical environments while working in the West Indies (Guadeloupe) and South Pacific (New-Caledonia). After spending two years in south of Spain (University of Murcia) with a Marie-Curie Intra-European Fellowship (MaPACo project, FP7 – 2011 – People) and in north of France (University of Littoral-Côte d'Opale) to assess fish connectivity through larval dispersal, I’m currently a postdoctoral fellow of the Too Big to Ignore project, where I will be responsible of the knowledge integration and synthesis of the collected information through the ISSF (Information System on Small-Scale Fisheries) platform.
